USE
Charging battery 6 - battery of new tools is not fully charged - plug charger into power source - light A will turn on - insert battery into charger - light A will blink indicating that the battery is receiving a charge (6a) - after approximately 1 hour the battery is fully charged and light A stays on after blinking, at which time the charger automatically switches to maintenancecharging (6b) !remove battery from charger after charging period has ended thereby lengthening the service life of the battery IMPORTANT: - if light A does not blink after inserting a battery (6b), this may mean: 1) that the battery is too cold or too hot (charger only charges batteries when its temperature is between 0C and 45C); the charger then automatically switches to maintenance-charging, until a temperature between 0C and 45C is reached, at which time the charger will automatically switch to normal charging 2) that the battery should be replaced - while charging, the charger and the battery may become warm to touch; this is normal and does not indicate a problem - ensure that the outside surface of the battery is clean and dry before inserting into charger - do not remove battery from tool while it is running - when you charge the battery for the first time, it only accepts 80% of its maximum capacity; after several charges and discharges, however, the batteries should be at full capacity and deliver maximum performance - do not repeatedly recharge the battery after only a few minutes of operation; this may result in a reduction of operating time and battery efficiency - the nickel-cadmium battery must be kept separate from the natural environment and should not be disposed of as normal domestic waste (symbol 5 will remind you of this when the need for disposing occurs) !prior to disposal protect battery terminals with heavy tape to prevent short-circuit - if you anticipate long periods of non-use for the tool, it is best to unplug the charger from its power source Combined switch B 2 for on/off and speed control Control the speed stepless from zero to maximum by putting less or more pressure on the trigger

2 Mechanical speeds 7 Set switch C to desired speed !change speed while tool is running slowly 1 = LOW SPEED - high torque - for screwdriving and drilling large diameters - for tapping thread 2 = HIGH SPEED - lower torque - for drilling Mounting of accessories in chuck - open the chuck by turning sleeve E 2 counterclockwise - insert accessory - close the chuck by turning sleeve E clock-wise - firmly tighten sleeve E to ensure accessory is firmly in place !insert the accessory as deep as possible in the chuck !do not use accessories with a damaged shank VariTorque clutch - the VariTorque clutch limits the amount of output torque delivered by the chuck - 16 clutch settings are possible: output torque will increase as clutch ring F 1 is rotated from 1 to 15; position G 7 will lock up the clutch to permit drilling or driving heavy duty work - when turning in a screw, first try VariTorque Control position 1 and increase until the desired depth has been reached Reversing switch D 28 For changing direction of rotation Keep the air vent openings clean and uncovered
