without guards in place. ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Never fit a metal replacement line. Keep hands and feet away from the cutting means at all times and especially when switching on the motor. Never pick up or carry the trimmer by the electric cable. beware of objects thrown by the cutting line. Exercise extreme caution when using the blade with this unit. Blade thrust is the reaction that may occur when the spinning blade contacts anything it cannot cut. This contact may cause the blade to stop for an instant, and suddenly “thrust” the unit away from the object that was hit. This reaction can be violent enough to cause the operator to lose control of the unit. Blade thrust can occur without warning if the blade snags, stalls, or binds. This is more likely to occur in areas where it is difficult to see the material being cut. For cutting ease and safety, approach the weeds being cut from the right to the left. In the event an unexpected object or woody stock is encountered, this could minimize the blade thrust reaction. Switch off and disconnect from the power supply before: ● servicing ● leaving the trimmer unattended ● cleaning your trimmer ● changing accessories ● checking for any damage after hitting an object ● checking for any damage if the trimmer starts to vibrate abnormally ● performing maintenance Use only manufacturers recommended replacement parts and accessories. After extending new cutter line, always return the machine to its normal operating position before switching on. After each use, clean with a soft dry cloth. Check all nuts, bolts, and screws at frequent intervals for proper tightness to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service centre. When not in use, tools should be stored in a cool dry place and locked up out of the reach of children. Trimmer ■ The trimmer is designed for cutting grass and light weeds only in private garden areas.
