[. . . ] ENGLISH Thank you for buying a Samsung Camera. This manual will guide you through using the camera, including capturing images, downloading images and using the application software. Please read this manual carefully before using your new camera. Instructions Use this camera in the following order Set up the camera driver Before connecting the USB cable to the PC and this camera, you have to set up the camera driver. Install the camera driver that is contained in the Application S/W CDROM. [. . . ] The camera is now ready to record audio. 4. Press the shutter button to start recording. The [RECORDING] message will be displayed on the LCD monitor (as shown) and audio is recorded to the still image for 10 seconds. Recording can be stopped by pressing the shutter button again. 6. [ ] icon will be displayed on the LCD monitor after finishing the voice memo. PLAY INFORMATION Audio can't be recorded onto a movie clip file. When you press the shutter button to stop the audio recording, press the shutter button halfway and the buzzer sound will not be recorded. A distance of 40cm between you and the camera (microphone) is the best distance to record sound. 67 DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT button DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT buttons activate the following. DOWN button When the menu is displayed on the LCD monitor, pressing the DOWN button makes the menu cursor move down or change the sub menu value. LEFT button When the menu is displayed on the LCD monitor, pressing the LEFT button makes the cursor shift to the main menu. RIGHT button When the menu is displayed on the LCD monitor, pressing the RIGHT button makes the cursor shift to the sub menu. MENU / OK button MENU button When you press the MENU button, the play mode menu will be displayed on the LCD monitor. Pressing it again will return the LCD to the initial display. OK button When the menu is displayed on the LCD monitor, the OK button is used for confirming data that is changed by using the 5 function button. INFORMATION The menu will not be displayed on the LCD monitor in the following circumstances: - When another button is being operated. (when the green LED next to the viewfinder blinks) - When there is no battery capacity. 68 DELETE ( ) button This deletes an image stored on the memory card. Press the LEFT/ RIGHT button to select the image that you want to delete, and press the delete ( ) button. A message as shown alongside will be displayed on the LCD monitor. 4. To cancel the deletion, press the LEFT button. Press the OK button and a message as shown alongside will be displayed on the LCD monitor. Select [DELETE] or [CANCEL] by pressing the UP/DOWN button and press the OK button. Selecting [DELETE] : Once an image has been deleted, the previous image in the sequence will appear on the LCD monitor. Selecting [CANCEL] : The image will be displayed on the LCD monitor. PLAY NOTICE Before deleting an image from the camera, you should download (p. 100) the image to your computer or protect (p. 73) the image, if you want to keep it. 69 PLAY & PAUSE ( ) button When the menu is not displayed on the LCD monitor, press the PLAY & PAUSE button to play and pause the movie clip, or a still image that has a voice memo or audio recording file. Press the LEFT/ RIGHT button to select an image that has voice memo, movie clip or audio recording file. 3. Pressing the PLAY & PAUSE button activates the following. [. . . ] If you didn't install the camera driver, please install the JPEGCODE included in the application S/W CD-ROM. If not, the movie clip may not play back on the PC.
