The below instructions will help you update your Galaxy S from Éclair 2. 1 to Froyo 2. 2. Please follow all steps below carefully as they are vital for a successful upgrade. Please Note: all personal data stored on the Galaxy S internal memory (Contacts, Calendar, SMS, Email, Photos, Apps, Audio, Video, Documents and any other personal data and files) will be removed from your device during this procedure. Backup using Kies/External Storage is strongly recommended as the phone memory will be formatted during the upgrade (SIM/External SD memory will remain intact).
1. PC Software installation
1) Download and Install Samsung Kies on your PC

Note: You may have already acquired and installed an earlier version of Kies via the CD in the commercial box at the time of purchase. If so, please uninstall the earlier version and install the current version available via the link above.
