[. . . ] 1 This camcorder records and plays back in SP (standard play) mode and in LP (long play) mode. S The REC MODE switches between SP and LP with each press. We recommend that you use this camcorder to play back any tape recorded on this camcorder. Playing back a tape recorded in other equipment may produce mosaic shaped noise. When you record in SP and LP modes on one tape or you record some scenes in LP mode, the playback picture may be distorted or the time code may not be written properly between scenes. Record using SP mode for best picture and sound quality. 1 You can turn the REC indicator on or off during recording. To turn the REC indicator ON or OFF during recording, press the ENTER button. s The REC LAMP menu is changed to ON or OFF respectively. S If you want to turn off the indicator, set the REC LAMP to OFF. 1 The WIND CUT function minimizes wind noise or other noise during recording. Using the MENU DIAL, change the year setting. Using the MENU DIAL, change the month setting. You can set the day, hour and minute following the same procedure used for setting year and month. Will blink, and then a few seconds later, the screen will return to the main menu. 1 Even a beginner can take a picture using the EASY mode. By pressing the EASY button, all the functions on the camera will be set to off and the recording settings will be set to the following basic mode.
