This is to avoid ringing in your ear while you are trying to converse. You can quickly access the Messages menu by pressing in the standby mode. Enter a destination number using the numeric keys. Pressing the Ph Book soft key allows you to search your Phone Book for a number. You can retrieve one of the numbers labelled as "Mobile".
