[. . . ] 6. 5. 101 Converter The conversion menu provides the following conversion categories: · Currency · Length · Weight · Volume · Area · Temperature Using Converters To convert a currency, length, weight, volume, area, or temperature, do the following: 1. 2. 3. Select the conversion feature you wish to use. Touch the down arrow key and select the units to be converted from. Enter the quantity you want converted in the field at the top of the screen. The converted quantities appear opposite their respective units of measure. 4. Currency -- Reviewing/Editing Exchange Rates The Currency Converter includes long-term average exchange rates as default values. To review and/or change a default exchange rate to the current exchange rate, do the following: 1. From the Tools menu, touch Converter. Enter the changed exchange rate value. Touch the Done soft key to save the changed exchange rate. Currency -- Adding Exchange Rates You can use the Currency Converter to convert from and to obscure currencies by adding exchange rates for these currencies. To add a currency and its exchange rate to the Currency Converter, do the following: 1. 5. From the Tools menu, touch Converter Currency. Tip: From any Converter screen, touch . 2. Touch the View Rates soft key. A list of exchange rates appears in the display. 3. Use the left and right arrow buttons at the top of the list to display the base currency for the new exchange rate. A new line containing blank exchange rate fields appears at the bottom of the exchange rates list. 4. 5. 103 Select the currency identifier field. 6. Enter an identifier of up to 4 characters for the new currency. (For more information, refer to "Entering Text" on page 52. ) 3. Touch the Erase Rates soft key. The Select to Erase screen appears in the display, listing those rates you can erase. 7. 8. Highlight the exchange rate field. Enter a decimal exchange rate for the new currency using the keypad. Note: The Exchange Rate field only accepts up to seven characters (including the decimal point) with up to five digits before or after the decimal point (for example: 1234567, 0. 12345, 1. 23456, 123. 456, 12345. 6). Note: The Erase Rates soft key only appears if there are user-added currency conversion rates in the Rates list. 4. 9. Touch a user-added currency exchange rate to be erased. A check mark appears in the checkbox for the selected rate. Checkmarks appear in the checkboxes for all user-added rates. To add the new exchange rate to the list, touch the Done soft key. Currency -- Erasing Exchange Rates You cannot erase the preloaded currencies from the Exchange Rate list. You can erase a currency that you have added to the list by doing the following: 1.
