Number buttons (0-9)
Press the number buttons to tune directly to a particular channel or to enter numerical values in the menu system.
MENU
Press this button to access the Main Menu.
QUICK
Press this button to display the QUICK GUIDE.
(PLAY)
Press this button to PLAY a VCR tape or DVD disc.
GUIDE
Press this button to display the GUIDE.
(STOP)
Press this button to STOP a VCR tape or DVD disc.
Up/Down/Left/Right Arrows
Use these buttons to scroll through any on-screen menu.
(RECORD)
Press this button to RECORD to a VCR tape.
OK/
Press this button to select highlighted items in the menu system. After entering a channel number using the 0-9 buttons, you can press the OK button to tune to that channel. This button also accesses DIRECTV INTERACTIVETM program enhancements when you see the icon appear on your TV screen.
(PAUSE)
Press this button to PAUSE a VCR tape or DVD disc. Press PLAY or PAUSE again to resume.
(REW)
Press this button to Rewind a VCR tape or DVD disc.
WHO (RED button)
Press this button to change the current user profile.
(FF)
Press this button to Fast Forward a VCR tape or DVD disc.
AUDIO (GREEN button)
While watching TV, press this button to select an alternate audio track. While in the GUIDE, press this button to view future program listings in the guide.
?(HELP)
Press this button to display help messages about the screen or menu currently on the TV.

Using Your Remote Control

Manual Mode
You can program your remote control to operate other components in your home entertainment system such as your TV, VCR, or DVD player. You can enter individual device codes using the manual mode.

Turn on the device you want to control. Press the device button (example: The device button should light up.

button simultaneously.
Enter the three-digit code of your device (see Appendix). If the entered code is correct, the device will turn off. The button should blink twice and then turn off.
Scaning Mode
Use the scanning mode to scan through the list of codes for a particular device. This could take some time because there might be many codes for the selected device.

To operate a device using your remote control, first press the corresponding device button ( TV , SAT , VCR , DVD ). The TV , VCR , and DVD buttons need to be programmed to work the particular components of your entertainment system.

Changing Channels
There are several ways to change the channel you are watching:

Enter a channel number directly with the 0 - 9 number buttons. After entering a number, press the button or wait a few seconds for the system to tune to the new channel. Use the Quick Guide (see page 22) or the Full-Screen Guide (see page 25) to change channels.
Channel Banner
The Channel Banner displays at the top of the screen for a few seconds after changing the channel. Press the EXIT button to remove the Channel Banner from the screen, or wait a few seconds for it to automatically disappear. [. . . ] (1. 3kg)
