Connect a computer video monitor cable between the DTV OUT (RGB) jack on the Set-Top Box and the VIDEO IN jack on the computer monitor. Connect an audio cable between the Lt/Rt AUDIO OUT jacks on the Set-Top Box and the L/R AUDIO IN jacks on the computer monitor. NOTE You must set "DTV OUT SELECT (Y, Pb, Pr /RGB, DVI)" for RGB interface. Connecting an Audio Component There are many types of audio systems on the market today. A simplified illustration of an audio system is shown to the right. For more information, see your audio system owner's manual. If your audio system has : A coaxial digital audio input, connect the audio system to the DOLBY DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL) jack on the Set-Top Box. An optical digital audio input, connect the audio system to the DOLBY DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) jack on the Set-Top Box. Be certain to remove the black cover from the optical output before inserting the cable. Both coaxial and optical digital audio inputs, SAMSUNG recommends you use the optical digital output. Do not connect both optical and coaxial cables. This may damage your audio system. 17 2 CHAPTER TWO Remote Control and On-Screen Menus Reviewing the Remote Control The Set-Top Box remote control and on-screen menu system work together to operate the Set-Top Box as simply as possible. Understanding the remote control buttons and the menus allows you to operate the Set-Top Box with ease. If you need some assistance while using the remote control and the menus, the provided on-screen help feature will be helpful. See "Using the On-screen Help" on page 22. OE Press to turn the power on or off. ´ Channel Number Buttons Press to directly tune to a particular channel. +100 Press to select the cable TV channels over 100. ¨ MUTE Mute or unmute the TV audio. ^ Volume +/Adjust the volume level of your TV. Ø GUIDE Press to display the on-screen Electronic Program Guide (EPG). Menu Press to display the on-screen menus or to switch back to the previous menu screen that was displayed. " (Depending on the particular broadcast, one or more foreign language translations might be available. ) CAPTION When a digital signal is received, Service1, Service2, . . . When an analog signal is received, CC1, CC2, CC3, or CC4 can be selected. ¿ SET Use to program the remote control for other components. (See "Programming the Remote Control for Other Components" on page 46. ) 19 2 CHAPTER TWO Remote Control and On-Screen Menus Installing the Batteries Press and remove the battery cover on the back of the remote control. Put two AAA batteries into the compartment and replace the battery cover. Programming the Remote Control To program the remote control to operate a TV, see "Programming the Remote Control for Other Components" (page 46). 20 2 CHAPTER TWO Remote Control and On-Screen Menus The On-Screen Menu System Using the Menu UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons in the center of the remote control, you can move between the menus.
