Display the PAGE 2 Playback Setting Screen (page 86). Select the rotate icon L, and press the SET button. !: Rotates image counterclockwise 90 degrees.

EDITING VIDEO CLIPS
You can delete ("cut") the first part or the last part of a video clip. You can choose anywhere in the video clip as the cutting point. You can also join two video clips together and save them as one separate clip ("joining"). Select the edit video icon k, and press the SET button. Select the join icon x.

Press the SET button. h The 9-image playback display for video clips appears. Toggle the SET button to move the orange frame to the video clip that you wish to join. Select whether you want the original video clip to be erased when clipping is executed. YES: The original video clips are saved. NO: The original video clips are not saved. h The two video clips are saved together as a separate video clip. h If "NO" was selected in step 8, the original video clips are erased when the joined video clip is saved.

Extracting a still image from a video clip
While video clip playback is paused, you can save a still image of the paused scene.

Display the frame (paused) you wish to save as a single still image. Select the edit video icon k from the PAGE 2 Playback Setting Screen, and press the SET button. Select the extract still icon 7, and press the SET button. [. . . ] <Using the manual focus effectively> i When photographing a moving subject, press the shutter release button just before the subject reaches the focus distance, and the shutter will be released when the subject is at the correct distance. i Use manual focus to avoid incorrectly focussed images when there is an object between the camera and the subject you wish to focus on.
