Any information regarding only one of these products will be labeled as such. Please read these instructions carefully before using the camera. Make sure to read and understand the separate booklet "SAFETY MANUAL". [. . . ] To delete the data, select "YES", and press the SET button. When data delete is completed, "No image" is shown. CAUTION i Data which is protected from accidental deletion cannot be deleted. To delete protected data, set the protect setting for the data to off (page 103), and then follow the data delete procedure. HINT i You can also access the Delete Single Confirmation Screen from the Playback Screen by toggling the SET button up. English 106 ROTATE IMAGE Captured still images can be rotated to the correct orientation for viewing. 1 2 Display the still image you wish to rotate, and display the PAGE 2 Playback Setting Screen (page 96). Select the rotate icon L, and press the SET button. RIGHT: Rotates image clockwise 90 degrees. LEFT: Rotates image counterclockwise 90 degrees. ROTATE RIGHT LEFT OK 3 Select "RIGHT" or "LEFT", and press the SET button. h Each time the SET button is pressed, the image is rotated another 90 degrees. HINT i An image for which the protect mode has been enabled cannot be rotated. To rotate a protected image, cancel the protect mode before beginning the rotate image procedure (page 103). 107 English CHANGING IMAGE SIZE (RESIZE) A captured image can be resized to a smaller size and saved as a separate image. 1 2 Display the still image whose size you want to change, and display the PAGE 2 Playback Setting Screen (page 96). Select the resize icon I, and press the SET button. h The Resize Screen appears. RESIZE (3072×2304) (1600×1200) (640×480) OK 3 Toggle the SET button up or down to select the new image size. 2M (1600 × 1200): The saved image will be 1, 600 × 1, 200 pixels. 0. 3M (640 × 480): The saved image will be 640 × 480 pixels. 4 Press the SET button. h Resizing begins. HINT Why can't the image be resized?i An image can be resized only to a smaller (or the same) size, not to a larger size. A still image that was captured with the still image mode set to u or v cannot be resized. English 108 EXTRACTING A STILL IMAGE FROM A VIDEO CLIP You can select one image (scene) from a video clip, copy it, and save it as a still image (the original data remains unchanged). 1 2 3 Play back a video clip, and pause at the point you wish to copy and save. Display the PAGE 2 Playback Setting Screen (page 96). Select the extract still icon 7, and press the SET button. h The screen to extract an image appears. [4:3]: The currently displayed image will be saved as a still image with an aspect ratio of 4:3. [16:9]: The currently displayed image will be saved as a still image with an aspect ratio of 16:9. (This selection is available only for video clips recorded in the HD mode. ) EXTRACT STILL 4:3 16:9 OK 4 Select [4:3] or [16:9], and press the SET button.
