Manual abstract: user guide SEVERIN KA 5825

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not allow the appliance or its power cord to touch hot surfaces or to come into contact with any heat sources. To prevent the danger of hot water or steam being emitted, always switch off the coffee maker and allow sufficient time for the appliance to cool down before it is opened or any accessories or attachments are removed. Do not allow the power cord to hang free; the cord must be kept well away from hot parts of the appliance. Always remove the plug from the wall Socket - after use, as well as - in cases of malfunction, and - during cleaning. [. . . ] the filter holder should remain closed. - Starting the brewing cycle: Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet and use the appropriate On/Off switch to turn on the side of the coffee maker to be used. - Switching off the coffee maker: Wait until all the water has passed through the filter, then switch off the active side of the appliance and remove the plug from the wall socket. - Removing the freshly brewed tea: The time the tea is left to stand largely depends on your personal taste as well as on the type of leaves used. Remove the aromaprotection lid from the carafe and carefully lift out the tea filter. Use the proper lid to close the heat-retaining carafe. Heat-retaining carafe - For technical reasons the screw-in lid does not close hermetically. Therefore always hold the carafe in an upright position when filled with coffee or tea. - Keeping the coffee or tea hot: A heatconserving carafe accumulates heat energy. Therefore the carafe should preferably be filled to its maximum capacity. If it is only partly filled, the temperature will not be maintained as efficiently. If you rinse out the carafe with hot water before use, the coffee or tea will be kept warm for longer. The interior of the heat-retaining carafe insert consists of high quality double-walled glass with a vacuum in-between for better insulation. Any streaks or blister marks inside the carafe that may look like bubbles or scratches do not affect its functional use nor its heat-retaining ability. In case the glass is damaged for one or another reason as mentioned below, there is a risk that the glass carafe will shatter. This might happen quite some time after the glass carafe has actually been damaged. Therefore do not drink out of the carafe and do not put your hand into it. Always close the carafe with its screw cap. The coffee can be poured out easily by half a turn of the cap, without removing it. Do not leave the carafe unattended where children may reach it. - Do not stir liquid in the carafe, for example with a metal spoon. - Do not use hard brushes or abrasive cleaning agents. [. . . ] The filter holder and tea filter may be cleaned in soapy water or in a dishwasher. Do not dismantle the carafe, do not wash in a dishwasher and do not immerse it in water. Rinse the inside of the carafe with water and wipe the outside with a clean damp cloth after use. To remove coffee deposits from the inside of the carafe, fill it with hot water and add a teaspoon of dishwasher detergent. [. . . ]
