Water container Important safety instructions ● Before the appliance is used, the main unit as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. — Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with. In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. Thermal safety cut-out The preset thermal safety cut-out protects the heating element from overheating should the appliance be erroneously switched on without any water, or if the heating element is calcified. Once the safety cut-out has switched off the kettle, it must be allowed to cool down sufficiently, or must be descaled before it is switched on again. Boiling water ● Never remove the water container from the base (or replace it) while the appliance is switched on. - Remove the water container from its base. - Open the lid and fill the container with water to the desired level, observing the Min. - Before closing the lid and placing the container back on its base, ensure that the appliance has not yet been switched on. - Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket and press the On/Off switch; the indicator light comes on. After reaching the boiling point, the appliance is automatically switched off by the integral steam cut-off device. - To interrupt the boiling process, set the On/Off switch to its Off position; the indicator light goes out. - To pour hot water, remove the container from its base. - To prevent hot steam from being emitted, ensure that the lid remains closed while pouring out the water.
