4 Turn on your system
The first time the unit is plugged in,  the unit will enter the demonstration mode.  [. . . ] Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray.

Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on. Open the cassette compartment by pushing the area marked " ". Load a cassette into the TAPE 1 compartment or TAPE 2 compartment with the side to be played facing towards you. Press the tape (1 listen to. 

Place the disc on the disc tray,  label side up. Press the TUNING ( or ) button to tune in to the desired station. Press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the power stand-by mode. Whilst pressing down the PRESET button and the X-BASS/DEMO button,  press the REC PAUSE button until "CLEAR AL" appears. 

When the TUNING button is pressed for more than 0. 5 seconds,  scanning will start automatically and the tuner will stop at the first receivable broadcast station. Caution: This operation will erase all data stored in memory including clock,  timer settings,  tuner preset,  and CD programme. 

To receive an FM stereo transmission: Press the TUNER (BAND) button to display the "ST" indicator.  [. . . ] G " " will appear when an FM broadcast is in stereo.  [. . . ]
