Sending Faxes from a Windows Application
You may send a fax directly from within any Windows application providing Sharp MFP Fax-Mail is selected as the printer. To send a fax from within your Windows application, follow the steps outlined below: From the File menu of the application, select Print.

Fax/Image E-mail application
Choose Sharp MFP Fax-Mail as your printer. The Send Image Mail & Fax dialog box appears. Complete the required fields, and select the Send button. The Send Image Mail & Fax dialog box enables you to select the destination recipient as well as specify a subject and message. Please note that the Default Send Address and Default File Type will be used for recipients selected from the Sharp Colour Multifuntion Interface Address Book. You may change these designations via a "right-click" menu selection on each individual recipient for the current operation.
Sending E-mail Messages
From the Fax/Image E-mail application, you can send e-mail messages with or without image file attachments. All e-mail messages are funneled through your Microsoft Exchange/Outlook You may type the e-mail address directly into the To: field on the Fax/ Image E-mail screen or you can access the recipient's e-mail address from your Colour Multifunction Interface Address Book. (Note: If you are selecting an e-mail address from your Address Book, the address used will be the Default Send Address you selected for that Address Book record. ) To access your Address Book, follow these procedures: Click To: on the Fax/Image E-mail screen. If your current mail profile does not include your Colour MFP Address Books, the Choose Profile dialog box opens.

Select the Sharp profile that includes the Colour MFP Address Books and click OK. Select the Default Address Book.

Double-click the name of each e-mail recipient (or highlight the name and click the To: button). The recipient's name appears in the To: portion of the Message Recipient box. The selected name(s) will appear in the To: field of your Fax/Image E-mail screen. (Note: You may send copies (CC:) of your e-mail message to other e-mail recipients by following the procedures as outlined above. Instead of selecting the To: button, select the CC: button on both the Fax/Image E-mail screen and the Address Book dialog box to add the CC: names in the proper field. ) In the Subject: field, enter the subject of your e-mail message. In the Message: field, you may enter any additional comments to be included with your e-mail message. Click the Send button on your Fax/Image E-mail screen to send your e-mail message. If you wish to attach a scanned image, follow the instructions outlined below.
Sending Scanned Documents as an E-mail Attachment
When you scan, you are essentially snapping a picture of a document and saving this picture in an image file. Image files can take different formats which are consequently identified by their 3-letter name extension (. ala, . bmp, . pcx, . htm, etc). You can, for example, tear paper from a notebook, scan it, and save the resulting file in a number of different formats. The file format you choose is important. If you intend to send a file via e-mail, you should make sure that your e-mail recipient has an application capable of opening that type of file. [. . . ] You may Paste a number that you have placed on the Windows Clipboard in the Number to dial field, by selecting Paste from the pop up menu. To delete a number from the Number to dial list: Select appropriate number from the drop down list. Click your right mouse button and select Delete from the pop up menu. You may also access your Address Book from the Phone Control dialing pad by selecting the Address Book button at the bottom of the pad.
