[. . . ] When engaged, the key lock deactivates the buttons on the ePocket so that accidentally pressing the buttons will not have any effect. This feature may be useful when carrying the ePocket in a pocket or purse, for example to avoid undesired changes. Key lock - panel closed To activate the key lock, hold the ePocket as illustrated above and slide the key lock to the right. When the key lock is active you will see the following symbol at the left on the display. Key lock - panel open To deactivate the key lock, return it to the panel open position by sliding it to the left. When the key lock is inactive the following symbol at the left will appear on the display. 5 e2e wireless TM The e2e wireless TM (ear-to-ear wireless) technology of the ePocket gives you the ability to change the listening program or volume of both hearing instruments at the same time. [. . . ] The sequence is 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, and so on. . . Your hearing instrument specialist will program the settings in the different programs for your particular listening needs. Your hearing system may feature a program change indicator that beeps when the program is changed. When the hearing system is put into Program 1, you will hear one beep. When it is put into Program 2, you will hear two beeps, and so on. Note: If you are wearing two hearing instruments, the program will be changed on both instruments at the same time. Your hearing system has been programmed as follows: Hearing program 1 2 3 4 8 Description of the hearing situation Using the volume control With the "Volume up" (+) button and "Volume down" (-) button you can change the volume of your hearing system. Use the "Volume up" (+) button to increase the volume and make sounds louder. Use the "Volume down" (-) button to decrease the volume and make sounds softer. Note: If you are wearing two hearing instruments, the volume will be changed on both instruments at the same time. Your hearing instrument specialist may program your hearing system so that you hear a beep to indicate when the volume has been changed, and a series of beeps when the volume limit has been reached. 9 Reading settings from your hearing system a 4 inches 10 cm Your ePocket can display the current settings of your hearing system. To read the settings from your hearing system, hold the ePocket slightly in front of one hearing instrument at a distance of 10 centimeters (4 inches) or less. Read out distance s Push the "data read out" button for approximately one second. Your current settings will appear and remain in the display for 15 seconds. Push the data read out button 10 d The display shows your current setting for: · Program / memory number · Volume setting · Battery status of the left hearing instrument Function description · Battery status of the right hearing instrument Note: When your system is in telecoil mode be sure that the ePocket control is more than 10 cm from your hearing system or you may experience a pulsing noise when operating the ePocket. If the blinking "no-connection" symbol appears in the display, shorten the distance between your ePocket and your hearing system and try again. 4 inches Distance 11 Below are the display readings you may see while using your ePocket and what they mean. Display information (e. g. ) No connection (blinking) Key lock - panel closed Battery information Hearing instrument battery is full Key lock - panel open Volume information Volume soft Hearing instrument battery is half-full Volume normal Hearing instrument battery is almost empty Program information Volume loud Program 1, 2, 3 or 4 12 Changing the batteries a The ePocket is powered by two AAAA batteries. The ePocket display will indicate that you need to change the batteries when the symbol at the left is displayed. ePocket battery empty s AAAA-Batteries To change the batteries, gently pull down the cover of the ePocket battery compartment until it is opened. Insert two batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment. Always use new batteries when replacing dead batteries. Return dead batteries to your hearing instrument specialist for proper disposal. d Change batteries If you won't be using your ePocket for an extended period time, remove the batteries. Replace batteries that have leaked immediately. 13 Important note: - Keep batteries away from children and pets!- To avoid damage from possible battery leakage, remove the batteries if you do not plan to use the ePocket for an extended period of time. - Do NOT throw away your dead batteries!Do NOT attempt to dispose of batteries by burning them. Return them to your hearing instrument specialist for proper, environmentally conscious disposal. If swallowed, see a physician immediately or call the nearest poison control center. 14 Tips for using your ePocket The ePocket can be operated discretely from a pocket or purse to control your hearing system. When your system is in telecoil mode be sure that the ePocket control is less than 10 cm (4 inches) from your hearing system or you may experience a pulsing noise when operating the ePocket. Feedback or a loud noise occurs when using the "data read out" button If you experience issues not listed here, or your issue is not resolved by any of these solutions, contact your hearing instrument specialist. 17 Important notes After inserting a battery in your hearing instruments, it can take up to two minutes before the battery status information can be displayed on your ePocket. Please allow approximately two minutes before checking the battery status after inserting new batteries in your hearing instruments. To reset your hearing system to the default settings (the volume and program settings as when you initially turn your system on), press and hold the program button for 3 seconds. [. . . ]
