Before starting the appliance up, make certain that . Â the appliance, plug and power cable are in a serviceable condition and . Â all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance. 1) Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX marking and let it come to a full boil once â as described in the next section. 2) After it has boiled , pour this water away. 3) Rinse the kettle out with clear water. 4) Fill the appliance with water once again, up to the MAX marking, and then bring it to boil. boiling water
RISK - ELECTRICAL SHOCK!º Never place the electrical base 3 close to water â this would be a potentially fatal risk!Do not consume any water that has already stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water that has cooled down. 1) Lift the kettle oï¬ of the base when ï¬lling it!2) Press the unlocking button 1 and open the lid. nOTICE ⺠When ï¬lling it , hold the kettle upright. Only in this way can you correctly read the markings on the scale 5.  to at least the MIN mark, so that the appliance does not overheat, â to no higher than the MAX mark, so that boiling water cannot spill out. 4) First close the lid and then place the kettle on the base 3 such that it sits securely on the base 3. 5) Now insert the plug into the mains power socket. 6) Press the ON/OFF switch 2 downwards so that it engages. 7) The integrated indicator light in the ON/OFF switch 2 indicates that the appliance is now heating up. 8) The appliance switches itself oï¬ and the control lamps go out as soon as the water is on the boil. º For safety reasons, the lid should not be opened while the water is boiling or is very hot.
