A seam must be started, stitched and ended just so to be perfect. Tension is adjusted by turning the tension thumb nut. If your stitching looks like this, make it tighter by turning the tension thumb nut to the right. If your stitching looks like this, make it looser by turning the tension thumb nut to the left. When your seam looks like this, the tension is just right. 11 Sewhandy Electric model 143W1 To Change Needle When your needle becomes blunt or bent, change it right away. Loosen the screw and pull out the old needle. Insert a new needle with the flat side toward the left, push it up as far as it will go, and then tighten the screw as shown. Before you begin, be sure that the motor is off, the sew lever and presser foot are down, and the needle bar is up. 12 Sewhandy Electric model 143W1 To Oil your Machine Your sewing machine should be oiled occasionally, the same as mother's.
