PRESSURE REGULATOR This control regulates the pressure of the presser foot on to the feed-dogs. Insufficient pressure may cause poor feeding of the fabric, skipped stitches, or difficulty in guiding the fabric. Too much pressure may result in feeddogs or presser foot marks appearing on the fabric. For thicker ones increase it to 4 and for finer ones decrease to a lower number. 23 ENGLISH ITALIANO DEUTSCH STITCH WIDTH CONTROL The width of all the stitches produced on this machine can be made narrower or wider by adjusting the stitch width control. NOTE: When using twin-needles (option), the stitch width should never be set above twin needle mark, regardless of the stitch you have selected. Doing so will result in broken needles and possible damage to your machine. CONVERTING TO FREE- ARM SEWING Your machine can be used either as a flat- bed, or as a free- arm model. With the extension table in position, it provides a large working surface as a standard flat- bed model. By removing the extension table (just pull it off to the left as shown), the machine converts into a free- arm model. Then turn the hem up the required depth, press and pin in place. Place the fabric under the foot with the fold of the fabric positioned so that the needle just pierces the fold when the needle swings to the left. When completed, the stitching is almost invisible on the right side of the fabric. - Regular blind stitch for normal fabrics - Elastic blind stitch for soft, stretchable fabrics Medium to heavyweight fabric Tessuto medio-pesante Mittlere bis schwere Stoffe PUNTO INVISIBILE 1. Align needle so that it pierces background fabric along the outside edge of the appliqué. Lower presser foot and align the lip of the blind hem foot guide so that it sits directly under the edge of the appliqué. You may need to adjust the position of the guide to bring it closer or further from the edge of the appliqué, by using the thumbscrew located at the right of the foot. Begin sewing keeping the guide along the edge. To pivot for curves or corners, leave needle down in fabric on outside edge of appliqué, lift foot and pivot. ELASTIKSTICH KANTENBEFESTIGUNG This is a strong stitch because as its name implies, it makes multiple short stitches where the normal zigzag makes only one.
