To Operate your Machine Plug the machine into an electrical outlet. [. . . ] To end a seam, stitch right off the edge of the fabric and let the machine make a chain about one inch long. To start a new seam, hold the fabric edge against the front of the presser foot and raise the sew lever to SEW position. The fabric will "feed" under the foot and you'll be on your way.

To End Stitching in Fabric Sometimes you may need to end your stitching in the fabric. It is a good idea to finish tucks, pleats, hems and circles of stitching this way.

End Stitching Fabric continued. . . Pass scissors under the presser foot and pull thread loop to the left as far as it will go. Hold end of thread loop and cut thread close to end of stitching.
