Instructions for the User 9. USING THE BARBECUE
This appliance is not fitted with a safety valve. It therefore must never be left unattended when in operation. If you notice that the flames have gone out, turn the knobs to the OFF position AT ONCE and wait a few minutes before attempting to ignite the burners again. The lid, provided on some models only, must always be kept open while the burners are being lit. It can be lowered once they have ignited and must be raised as soon as the thermometer fitted on it reaches 300°C. Take care not to obstruct the combustion gas outlet flue in the back of the lid (if any). [. . . ] 11. 1. 1 Routine cleaning When cleaning and caring for stainless steel surfaces, always use only specific products which do not contain abrasives or chlorine-based acids. Instructions for use: pour the product onto a damp cloth and wipe over the surface, then rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth, chamois leather or paper kitchen towel. For the best results, we recommend using an abrasive, non-scratch pad. 11. 1. 2 Food stains or spills Never use metal scouring pads or sharp scrapers; they will damage the appliances external surfaces.
