8. [. . . ] HOB BURNER COMMAND KNOB The flame is lit by pressing the knob and turning it anticlockwise to minimum flame . To adjust the flame turn the knob between maximum ( ) and
minimum ( ). The burner goes out when the knob is returned to the position.
MAIN OVEN THERMOSTAT KNOB Selection of cooking temperature is carried out by turning the knob clockwise to the required temperature, between 50° and 260°C. The warning light will come on when the oven is heating up. When it goes out it means that the required temperature has been reached. Regular flashing means that oven temperature is being constantly maintained at the programmed level.

MAIN OVEN CONTROL KNOB Each of the functions listed below can be used (except the oven light and the small grill) only together with the correct temperature thermostat regulation as described on page of this manual.

TIMER KNOB This knob allows timed cooking procedures to be carried out using both the electric oven and the toaster. For information about the operation of this knob and the red light, refer to point "11. TIMER".
TOASTER FUNCTION KNOB This knob allows separate or simultaneous use of the toaster's two slots. For information about operation, refer to point "10. 2 Selecting a function".

Instructions for the user 9. USE OF THE OVENS
Before turning on the electric oven, if you do not wish to use the timed cooking function, turn the timer knob to the symbol
9. 1 Warnings and general advice
Using the oven for the first time, heat them to the maximum temperature (260 °C) for as long as it takes to burn off any production oil residues which could give a nasty flavour to the food. For the same reason, the first time the toaster is used it should be operated empty for 3-4 cycles of 5 minutes each. It can be installed in a few simple steps. First remove all protective film or sheeting before putting it in its place beside the oven as shown below.

1 Open the door beside the oven; 2 Take hold of the toaster as shown here; 3 Fit it into the compartment as shown on the right
1) 4 Turn the toaster and straighten it up; 5 Raise it until the triangular holes fit over the pins;
2) 6 After installation, the toaster must be in the position shown on the right.
3) To remove the toaster, reverse the order of the operations just described.
10. 2 Selecting a function
There are different functions available depending on the number of slices of bread to be toasted. The and functions allow two slices of bread to be toasted on both sides in the right-hand and left-hand slots of the toaster respectively. The function allows 4 slices of bread arranged in pairs in the left-hand and right-hand slots to be toasted simultaneously, on both sides. The toaster only works in combination with the timer knob: for information about the operation of this knob, refer to point "11. 2 Using the timer for the toaster". This timer allows a cooking duration to be set for both the electric oven and the toaster functions.
11. 1 Using the timer for the oven
Allows selection of manual cooking or the timer function with the oven automatically switched off at the end of the cooking time. If no cooking duration is selected, the timer knob must be turned to the symbol. To set the cooking duration, simply turn the knob clockwise to the position required. Setting is on a gradual scale and intermediate positions between the numbers shown can be used. At the end of the programmed cooking time, a buzzer will sound; it will stop automatically.
11. 2 Using the timer for the toaster
The manual operating mode, set by turning the knob to the symbol, is not available for the toaster. [. . . ] 7 If there are other fuel burning appliances in the same room B. S. 5440 part 2 1989 should be consulted to determine the air vent requirements. 8 This appliance must not be installed in a bed sitting room of less than 20 m3 or in a bathroom or shower room.
