When drilling the holes for the wall fixing screws care must be taken to ensure that they are quite level as there is only minimal vertical adjustment of the fixing brackets. [. . . ] Models with two motors require two charcoal filters. Instructions for opening and removing the metal grille panel To open the grille, pull the facia panel out into the operating position. Press inwardly on the two slide catch fastners, located at each side of the grille near the facia panel, while pulling the grille panel onwards (fig. To remove the grille, release the right hand hinge pin from the slot along the casing and the grille can be removed (fig. Operation The cookerhood funtions are controlled by three slide switches (fig. 8) which are located in the centre of the grille panel behind the facia panel. The three slide switches control the fan (2), fan speed (3) and worktop illumination (1). A neon lamp (5) (optional) indicates when the cooker hood is working. A concealed microswitch (4) (optional) acts as an over-ride and will switch the hood off, whatever selection is made with the slide switches, when the facia panel is closed. When the panel is pulled open the hood will resume working at the previous setting. The first setting should be selected when simmering or when cooking with only one pan. The second setting should be selected for normal cooking up to four pans and the third setting should be selected when frying or cooking food with strong odours. In cases where the cookerhood is equipped with an electronic speed control switch, greater flexibility is available in selecting the most suitable fan setting. The hood should be switched on immediately when you start cooking and should be left running for approximately 15 minutes after finishing. 2 GB Maintenance Regular maintenance and cleaning will ensure good performance and reliability, while extending the working life of the hood. Special attention should be taken to keep the grease filter clean at all times and the charcoal filter (recirculation model) should be replaced regularly. To remove filters for subsequent cleaning and replacement first open the metal grille panel. Grease filter This retain the solid grease particles. It is fitted onto the reverse side of the lower grille panel and can be either of a synthetic material or metallic. Maintenance of the grease filter varies according to the type used: synthetic grease filters should not be washed and should be replaced every three months (fig. The metal grease filters should be washed once a month in hot water using mild detergent or liquid soap. [. . . ] Appliance in class II are provided with a double insulation; therefore do not connect then through earthed plugs but through simple bipolar plugs. For safety, when installed the hood must be positioned at least 65 cm above a cooking appliance. Never leave frying pans unattended during use as overheated fats and oils may catch fire. The cookerhood ducting must never be connected to central heating flues, radiators or water heaters, etc. [. . . ]
