[. . . ] â· Take care that the power cord does not touch hot parts of the iron. â· If ironing with steam, you can use tap water, unless its scale content is too high. [. . . ] We recommend you classify the garments according to their required ironing temperature and begin with the garments that are ironed with the lowest temperature ( ). Ironing delicate garments at a temperature higher than necessary spoils the fabric and causes burnt residue to stick to the soleplate. With the iron unplugged from the mains, slide the steam control Fig. Fill the tank with water (no additives) without exceeding the maximum level, using the beaker provided Fig. â· Given the importance of correctly maintaining your iron's steam chamber, we recommend that you follow the instructions below. You have the following options, depending on the hardness of the water in your home. If you do not know the hardness of the water in your home, ask for information from your town council. If you live in an area that has very soft water, you can fill the tank using 100% drinkable mineral water or tap-water. â· If you live in an area that has soft water, you can fill the tank using 100% drinkable mineral water, or fill 50% with tap-water and the other 50% with bottled mineral water. â· If you live in an area that has medium water, you can fill the tank using 100% drinkable mineral water, or fill 75% with tap-water and the other 25% with bottled mineral water. â· Lastly, if you live in an area that has hard water, you can fill the tank with 100% bottled mineral water. â· IMPORTANT NOTICE: Battery water and water with additives (such as starch, perfumes, softeners, anti-scale products) are not suitable, since they could reduce the performance of the steam and, in certain cases, leave residue in the steam chamber, which could then dirty the garments when it comes out through the soleplate. [. . . ] Ask your Distributor, Town Council or Local Authority for detailed information in this respect. Solac is not liable for the failures of your appliance in the case of breach of the specifications of the Guarantee Conditions or if the operation and maintenance instructions, which have been included in the instructions brochure for each appliance, are not properly followed.
