Clean the heads, pinch roller and capstan with a cleaning swab slightly moistened with cleaning fluid or alcohol. â· Replace all the batteries with new ones if they are weak. Demagnetize the heads using a commercially available tape head demagnetizer. After trying the above remedies, if you still have problems, unplug the mains lead and remove all the batteries.
