Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] The Energy Star emblem does not represent EPA endorsement of any product or service. This product complies with Swedish National Council for Metrology (MPR) standards issued in December 1990 (MPR II) for very low frequency (VLF) and extremely low frequency (ELF). The monitor fulfils the TCO-92 recommendations on emissions if the monitor has this marking on the back cover. Read all of these instructions before using the monitor. [. . . ] The power indicator on the front of the monitor lights. Here, you will want to experiment with the screen settings to choose the ideal image size and position for your needs. the monitor already has 7 preset modes for the most popular settings. Illustrated details on the screen controls can be found in the "Screen controls and functions" section of this manual. With the tilt-swivel, you can adjust your monitor to view the screen at any desired angle within 90 degrees horizontal and 20 degrees vertical. To turn the monitor both vertically and horizontally, hold it at its bottom with both hands, as shown below: Your Vivitron 700 monitor is equipped with a feature called On-Screen Display (OSD). OSD allows you to see the function adjustment you are currently using. When you press any of the user adjustment buttons (refer to the "Screen controls and functions" section of this manual), the OSD is automatically activated and displays a corresponding window for two seconds in the middle of the lower half of the screen. On your screen, each OSD appears as white text on a blue background. Following are brief descriptions and an illustration of each display. This function adjusts the black level of the screen (increases or decreases how bright the display is). This function adjusts the contrast level of the screen image. This function adjusts the vertical size of the screen image. This function adjusts the horizontal size of the screen image. If you set a scanning frequency higher or lower than what your monitor is designed to support, a display screen appears that tells you the frequency is out of range. If you change your mind about customizing the screen settings and wish to use the monitor's original settings, simply press the RESET button to recall the factory settings for brightness, contrast, horizontal and vertical size, center, and pincushion for the mode currently in use. If you press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds, the monitor recalls the factory settings for all adjustments in all modes. If you are going to use a video mode that is not one of the 7 factory preset modes, you may need to fine tune your monitor to get the best display possible for that setting. You can adjust the monitor using the controls described previously in this manual. Once you have made the adjustments, they are automatically stored and used whenever you select that mode. the monitor stores up to 10 user-defined modes in its memory. If you attempt to enter an 11th mode, it replaces the first mode you originally entered. [. . . ] t Use the monitor's self-diagnosis function to check for any other problems. To use the self-diagnosis, power down the monitor, then press and hold the power switch until three color bars appear. During this time, you should see the power indicator light begin to blink (after about five seconds), then the screen should turn white, then a display of three colored bars appears in the middle of the display. If you observe these conditions, the monitor is working properly. [. . . ]
