AC Adaptor
· Use the nearby wall outlet when using the AC Adaptor. Disconnect the AC Adaptor from the wall outlet (wall socket) immediately if any malfunction occurs while using your camcorder. [. . . ] B STANDARD

WIDE CONVERSION
This item is provided for using a wide conversion lens (sold separately) in [ACTIVE STEADYSHOT] mode, and especially effective for Sony wide conversion lens. b Notes
· At the [ACTIVE STEADYSHOT] setting, the imaging field shifts slightly to the telephoto side, and the resolution will deteriorate slightly, as well.

Using the Menu
OFF
Select [OFF] ( ) when you use a tripod (sold separately) to make images look natural.
z Tips
· You can assign an ASSIGN button to work as [SET] (p. 39).
x STEADYSHOT TYPE You can select a type of camera-shake reduction for different recording situations. HARD
Reduces camera shakes considerably. This setting is not suitable for recording when you are using techniques like panning or tilting.
AF ASSIST
When you set this function to [ON], you can temporarily focus manually using the focus ring during the auto focus adjustment. The default setting is [OFF].

· This function is effective only when the FOCUS switch is set to AUTO (p. 26).
B STANDARD
Standard camera-shake reduction.
HANDLE ZOOM
You can select the zoom speed for the FIX position of the handle zoom switch from [1] (slow) through [8] (fast). The default setting is [3].
SOFT
Reduces camera shakes moderately. Slight unsteadiness remains in movies, which make the movies look as they are.
WIDE CONVERSION
This item is provided for a wide conversion lens (sold separately), and especially effective for Sony wide conversion lens.

(CAMERA SET) with the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial.
D. EXTENDER
When you set this function to [ON] ( ), the displayed image becomes about 1. 5 times larger. The image quality decreases because the image is digitally processed. This function helps you to focus on far-away subjects such as a wild bird away at a distance. The default setting is [OFF].

· The function returns to the default setting when you switch the format, perform the function by the MODE button, or turn off the camcorder.

When you set this function to [ON] ( ), you can record with the wider color range. Your camcorder can reproduce brilliant and vivid colors for flowers and the beautiful blue-green of tropical oceans. The default setting is [OFF].

· The colors may not be well reproduced when you play back a movie recorded with this function set to [ON] on a TV that does not support x. v. Color. · You cannot set [x. v. Color] in the following cases: When standard definition image quality (SD) is selected. During recording movies · When you set [x. v. Color] to [ON], the picture profile will be disabled.

· You can assign this function to an ASSIGN button (p. 39).
FADER
You can add visual effects to transition between scenes.
1 Select [WHITE FADER] or [BLACK FADER] during standby to fade in with the selected effect, or recording to fade out with the selected effect. The fader indicator stops flashing and disappears when the fading is complete.
To cancel before starting the operation, select [OFF] in step 1. The setting will be cleared every time you press the record button.
