[. . . ] Automatic Daylight Saving Time adjustment is based on local time. Daylight saving time begins at: 2:00 AM on the second Sunday of March. Standard time begins at: 2:00 AM on the first Sunday of November. Playing the radio --Manual tuning 1 2 Press RADIO ON/BAND/AUDIO IN to turn on the radio. Press RADIO ON/BAND/AUDIO IN repeatedly to select the desired band. Each press changes the band as follows: The display shows the band and frequency for a few seconds and then changes back to the current time. Listening to the sound from a connected optional component (See fig. ) 1 Connect the built-in audio cable with the stereo-miniplug on the rear of the unit to the line output jack or headphones jack on the optional component (e. g. , portable music player). Press RADIO ON/BAND/AUDIO IN to turn on the radio. Press RADIO ON/BAND/AUDIO IN repeatedly to select "AUDIO IN. " Play the optional component connected to the unit's built-in audio cable. Adjust the volume using VOLUME and the connected component's volume. Adjust the volume so that the sound is not distorted. "AUDIO IN" appears in the display. 3 4 Press STATION SELECT/PRESET 1 to 5 to select the desired wake-up station. Press ENTER. Two beeps sound and the radio alarm setting is entered. To stop the alarm Press RADIO OFF/ALARM RESET to turn off the alarm. The alarm will come on again at the same time the next day. Two beeps sound when the minimum frequency of each band is received during tuning. AC power cord Replace the battery with a Sony CR2032 lithium battery. Use of another battery may present a risk of fire or explosion. 2 3 4 Adjust volume using VOLUME. Installing and replacing the backup battery 1 Keep the AC plug connected to the AC outlet, remove the screw that secures the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit using a screwdriver, and pull the battery compartment marked PULL. -) Insert a new battery in the battery compartment with the side facing up. To remove the battery from the battery compartment, push it out from the side marked PUSH. -) To turn off the radio, press RADIO OFF/ALARM RESET. To check the station being received, press TUNE/TIME SET + or - or RADIO ON/BAND/AUDIO IN lightly. Press NAP repeatedly until the desired minutes appears. Each press changes the display as follows: Setting the clock and date To change the setting manually, follow the procedure from step 1. Presetting a station 1 2 Note If you replace the battery, do not disconnect AC plug from AC outlet. Otherwise, the 100 year calendar, current time, alarm and station presets will be initialized. NOTES ON THE LITHIUM BATTERY Keep the lithium battery out of the reach of children. Should the battery be swallowed, immediately consult a doctor. Wipe the battery with a dry cloth to assure good contact. [. . . ] Press STATION SELECT/PRESET 1 to 5 where the desired station is stored. Adjust volume using VOLUME. After a few seconds, the display will return to the current time but the preset button number will remain. 2 3 4 5 Press TUNE/TIME SET + or repeatedly until the desired hour appears. Press ENTER. To set the hour rapidly, hold down TUNE/TIME SET + or -. A beep sounds and the minute flashes in the display. [. . . ]
