While playing the CD/VIDEO CD, the standard stereo playback will be resumed when: you open or close the disc tray you turn the power off you select a sound effect in the "VIRTUAL 3D SURROUND" menu (see page 36).

Other functions
Checking the play information
This function is available only for DVD discs. You can check the play information on the bit rate, bit rate history, and the portion where the disc is played (layer). While playing a disc, the approximate bit rate of the playback picture is always displayed in Mbps (Megabits per second) and the audio by Kbps (Kilobits per second).

Press FUNCTION repeatedly until "DVD" appears in the display, then place a disc. Press DVD DISPLAY to display the control menu display on the TV screen.

Press V or v repeatedly to select "ADVANCED", then press ENTER.

Press V or v repeatedly to select one of the items, then press ENTER.
· BIT RATE: displays bit rate. · BIT RATE HISTORY: displays bit rate and bit rate history. · LAYER: displays layer and the point picked up. · OFF: turns off the "ADVANCED" display. Once an item has been set, the display for that setting appears on the screen.

To turn off the information display
Press DVD DISPLAY repeatedly until the information display disappears from the TV screen, or set "ADVANCED" in the control menu display to "OFF".

· Depending on the DVD, you may not be able to change the angles even if multi-angles are recorded on the DVD. · When a scene for which various angles (multiangles) are not recorded comes while displaying different angles simultaneously, the player returns to Normal Play.

Presetting radio stations
You can preset a total of 30 stations (20 for FM and 10 for AM).

Press MODE SELECT repeatedly to select "Set Up Mode", then press PUSH ENTER. Move the multi stick toward B or b repeatedly to select "TUNER Set Up ?", then press PUSH ENTER. Move the multi stick toward B or b repeatedly to select "TUNER Memory ?", then press PUSH ENTER.
A preset number and the frequency appear in the display. The stations are stored from preset number 1 automatically.

Press TUNER/BAND repeatedly to select FM or AM. Press and hold m or M until the frequency indication starts to change, then release.
Scanning stops automatically when a station is tuned in. "TUNED" and "STEREO" (for a stereo program) appear.
To cancel the menu operation
Press MODE SELECT.
To tune in a station with a weak signal
Press m or M repeatedly in step 2 to tune in the station manually.
To set another station to an existing preset number
Start over from step 1. or > to select the preset number where you want to store the other station, then press PUSH ENTER. You can preset a new station in the selected preset number.

To erase a preset station
1 Press TUNER/BAND repeatedly to select FM or AM. [. . . ] You can perform a search by using the numeric buttons to input a track number. Displayed during VIDEO CD and CD playback. You can perform a search by using the numeric buttons to input an index number.
You can set the specific section of a disc to repeat.
