It is not necessary to completely discharge the battery before you charge it. [. . . ] Detach the battery pack from the charger when the 5 LEDs do not light even if the battery pack is charged for the time described in "Basic use". Do not expose the battery pack to any mechanical shock. Do not leave the battery pack attached to video equipment. Detach the battery pack from the video equipment when you are not using it. The power is consumed as a little current always flows to the video equipment. After several days, the battery will not be adequately charged. In such a case, detach the battery from the charger and repeat charging a couple of times. It's not necessary to use up or completely discharge this battery pack before you recharge it. Clean the terminals (C) with a soft cloth or paper if they are not clean. You can also attach and detach the battery pack repeatedly to clean the terminals. Although you can store the battery pack fully charged, it will discharge gradually even if it is not used. Either check the remaining capacity of the battery before you use it or charge it fully again within a couple of days before use. Video equipment consumes battery power even while the tape is not moving. Turn off the power of the video equipment when it is not in use.
