With a PDA, you can easily perform the following functions: Enter your schedule details in the calendar and view them by the day, week, or month, and even set an alarm to remind you of important events. Keep your contact names, addresses, telephone numbers, and other details in the address book, and find them when you need them. Add tasks to the To Do List, prioritize them, and assign them due dates. Synchronize your data with the software on your computer, to back up your data. Track expenses when you are out of the office, then transfer the data to your computer. Exchange data with your computer. The Wireless LAN Access Point The Wireless LAN Access Point, which is also called the Access Point, is designed for building a wireless LAN (Local Area Network) environment. The Access Point comes with the Wireless LAN PC Card and required software. You can easily build a wireless LAN environment by plugging the Access Point into an AC power outlet, installing the Wireless LAN PC Card in your computer, and using the provided software. Because a wireless LAN configuration requires no wiring, you can operate multiple computers more freely than ever before. You can also connect your Access Point to a telephone line, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) router, cable modem, or Digital Subscriber Line (xDSL) modem to share access to the Internet among multiple computers. 75 VAIO® Computer User Guide The Wireless LAN PC Card The Wireless LAN PC Card, which comes with the Wireless LAN Access Point, can be purchased separately and is designed for building a wireless LAN environment. The Wireless LAN PC Card can be used with or without the Access Point. Without the Access Point, you can achieve direct communication (Peer to Peer mode) between computers.
