Tap the down arrow next to Current Privacy to choose one of the following: Mask Records: Masked records appear as gray placeholders with a lock symbol. Hide Records: Hidden records disappear completely from the screen. If you have a password, the Show Records screen appears. Enter the password and then tap OK. 2 3 1 2 To display private records, proceed as follows: Locking your CLIÉ handheld You can lock your CLIÉ handheld with a password to protect information. To lock your CLIÉ handheld, proceed as follows: 1 2 Back up the data on your CLIÉ handheld using a HotSync® transfer (see the Using HotSync® operations (page 82) section). Select System from the drop-down list in the top right-hand corner. Your device is turned off and locked. To access your CLIÉ handheld again, you must enter your password. 1 2 3 4 Setting your CLIE handheld to lock automatically You can set your CLIÉ handheld to lock whenever you turn it off. To lock your handheld automatically, proceed as follows: Back up your data and assign a password as described in Assigning a password (page 75). Tap your choice from the list, as follows: Never: Your CLIÉ handheld will not lock automatically. To lock it manually, you must tap Lock & Turn Off in the Security screen. On power off: Your CLIÉ handheld will lock when it is turned off. At a preset time: The Set Time dialog box appears. Set a time so your CLIÉ handheld will lock at that preset time. Enter the time, and tap the down arrow next to it to select minute(s) or hour(s). 5 Entering owner information You can enter a name, company name, or phone number of the CLIÉ handheld owner. If you have used the Security application to turn off and lock your CLIÉ handheld with a password, the information that you enter in Preferences appears the next time you turn on your CLIÉ handheld. To enter owner information, proceed as follows: 1 2 3 4 5 Tap the Home icon. From the drop-down list in the top right-hand corner, select System. From the drop-down list in the top right-hand corner, select Owner. If you enter more text than can fit on one screen, a scroll bar appears at the right side of the screen .
