When you overwrite an existing image with a new one, the original file data is deleted. To copy an image file to the computer without overwriting, change the file name to a different name and then copy the image file. However, note that if you change the file name (page 64), you may not be able to play back that image with your camera. 2 Double-click the desired image file. Stage 5: Viewing images on your computer This section describes the procedure for viewing copied images in the "My Documents" folder. The device is disconnected. · Step 4 is unnecessary for Windows XP. 62 x For Windows 98/98SE Confirm that the access indicators (page 59) are white. If the access indicators have turned white, the device is disconnected from a computer. Image file storage destinations and file names The image files recorded with your camera are grouped as folders on the "Memory Stick Duo". · When the restarting confirmation message appears, restart the computer following the instructions on the screen. Installing the software You can install the "PicturePackage" and "ImageMixer VCD2" software using the following procedure. · If you have not yet installed the USB driver (page 57), do not connect the camera to the computer before you install the "PicturePackage" software (except for Windows XP). · In Windows 2000/XP, log on as Administrator. · When "PicturePackage" is installed, the USB driver is installed automatically. 65 5 Remove the CD-ROM as the shortcut icons of "PicturePackage Menu" and "PicturePackage destination Folder" are displayed after the installation. To start up the software · Double-click the "PicturePackage Menu" icon on the desktop. For information on the use of the software Click [?] at the upper-right corner of each screen to show the on-line help. Technical support for "PicturePackage"/"ImageMixer VCD2" is provided by the Pixela User Support Center. For more support information, refer to the leaflet in the supplied CD-ROM package. 66 Using your Macintosh computer You can copy images to your computer and create a video CD using "ImageMixer VCD2" (supplied). · There are three modes for a USB connection when connecting a computer, [Auto] (default setting), [Mass Storage] and [PTP] modes. This section describes the [Auto] and [Mass Storage] as examples. · When your computer resumes from the suspend or sleep mode, communication between your camera and your computer may not recover at the same time.
