To use the time counter Press CLEAR at the point on the tape that you want to find later. The counter in the display window resets to "00:00" or "0:00. " To search for the counter 0:00:00 point automatically, see "To search for the counter 0:00:00 point" on page 45.
To display the counter on the TV screen, press DISPLAY.
Notes · Tapes recorded in the LP mode on other VCRs can be played back on this VCR but the picture quality cannot be guaranteed. · While displaying a menu on the TV screen, you cannot use H PLAY, X PAUSE, M FF, m REW, or x STOP buttons. · The counter resets to "00:00" or "0:00" (in the display window) or "0:00:00" (on the TV screen) whenever a tape is reinserted. · The counter stops counting when it comes to a portion with no recording. · When 10 hours have passed, the counter in the display window returns to "0:00" and the count starts over again. · When playback does not start even if you insert a tape with its safety tab removed, set "Auto play" in the ADVANCED OPTIONS menu correctly (page 47). · This VCR can also play S-VHS tapes. The VCR will automatically identify the type of tape inserted in the VCR (either VHS or S-VHS). When S-VHS tapes are played in the VCR, the enhanced resolution will not be visible on screen; there may also be picture distortion while playing the S-VHS tape in slow motion or while utilizing other special playback modes. · Turn on the VCR and the TV and set it to the video channel. · Insert a tape with its safety tab in place. Make sure the tape is longer than the total recording time.

Basic Operations
INPUT SELECT
To record from a source connected to the LINE IN 1 or LINE-2 IN jacks, press INPUT SELECT or M/m to display "L1" or "L2" in the "CH" position. To record the same program every day or the same day every week, press m while the date is flashing. For details, see "Daily/weekly recording" below. To use the Auto Tape Speed function, press m to display "AUTO" in the "SPD" position. For details, see "To use the Auto Tape Speed function" on page 36.

Press MENU to exit the menu.
Press ?/1 to turn off the VCR. The TIMER indicator appears in the display window and the VCR stands by for recording. To stop recording To stop the VCR while recording, press x STOP.

Daily/weekly recording In step 4, press m to select the recording pattern. [. . . ] · Set your TV's code number.
