LEVEL menu parameters
x TEST TONE (Test Tone)
Initial setting: OFF Lets you output the test tone sequentially from each speaker. When set to "AUTO", the test tone is output from each speaker automatically. When set to "FIX", you can select which speaker will output the test tone.
x FRONT L_I_R (Front speaker balance)
Initial setting: 0 (BALANCE) Lets you adjust the balance between front left and right speakers. You can adjust from 8 dB to +8 dB in 0. 5 dB steps.
When one of the following sound fields are selected, no sound is output from the sub woofer if all the speakers are set to "LARGE" in the SPEAKER SET UP menu. However, the sound will be output from the sub woofer if the digital input signal contains LFE (Low Frequency Effect) signals, or if the front or surround speakers are set to "SMALL". D. For advanced LEVEL menu adjustments
Use the CUSTOMIZE menu and set "MENU EXPAND" to "ON" to enable advanced adjustments. For details on "MENU EXPAND", see page 40. For details on how to set the items, see page 44.
Adjusting the equalizer
You can adjust the tonal quality (bass, midrange, treble level) of each speaker using the EQUALIZER menu.

Resetting sound fields to the initial settings

Press ?/1 to turn off the power. While holding down MUSIC, press ?/1.
"S. F. Initialize" appears in the display and all sound fields are reset to the initial setting.
You can store up to 5 different equalizer settings in the equalizer bank (EQ BANK [1][5]) and apply them.

Start playing a source encoded with multi channel surround effects (DVD, etc. ). Rotate MAIN MENU to select "EQUALIZER". Rotate MENU to select "EQ BANK". Rotate /+ to select the equalizer bank you want to adjust (EQ BANK [1] [5]). Rotate MENU to select the parameter.
For details, see "EQUALIZER menu parameters" below.
While monitoring the sound, rotate /+ to adjust the selected parameter. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to adjust the other items.

x EQ BANK (Equalizer bank selection)
Lets you select the equalizer bank ([1] [5]). When you select "OFF", the equalizer is cancelled.

Advanced settings
Using the CUSTOMIZE menu to adjust the receiver
You can adjust various receiver settings using the CUSTOMIZE menu.
Initial setting: 0 dB You can adjust from 10 dB to +10 dB in 1 dB steps.
x EQ BANK X CLEAR (Equalizer bank clear)
You can reset the adjusted equalizer settings to the initial setting. For details, see "Clearing stored equalizer settings".

You can adjust the front speaker bass and treble level with BASS control and TREBLE control.
