Ergonomic Considerations
You will be using your computer as a portable device in a variety of environments. Whenever possible, you should attempt to take account of the following ergonomic considerations to both stationary and portable environments:

Using Hibernate Mode
In Hibernate mode, the state of the system is saved on the hard disk and power is turned off. Even when the battery runs down, no data will be lost. The power indicator light is off in this mode.
To activate Hibernate mode
Press the Fn+F12 keys. The Hibernating screen appears and the computer enters Hibernate mode. Alternatively, 1 2 Click Start and then Turn Off Computer. Click Hibernate.
To return to Normal mode
Turn on the computer by pressing the power button. The computer returns to its previous state.
!If you press the power button for more than four seconds, the computer will turn off automatically.

If you do not use the computer for a long period of time, put the computer into Hibernate mode. This power saving mode saves you the time of shutting down or resuming. When the computer is in Hibernate mode, you cannot insert a disc. Hibernate mode requires more time than Standby mode to be activated. It takes more time to return to Normal mode from Hibernate mode than from Standby mode. Hibernate mode uses less power than Standby mode.
