If you forgot your password, remove the disc, press DVD SETUP, then repeat steps 4 and 5 of "Limiting playback by children". When you are asked to enter your password, enter "199703" using the numeric buttons, then press ENTER. The display will ask you to enter a new 4-digit password. After you enter a new 4-digit password, replace the disc in the system and press DVD N. When the "PARENTAL CONTROL" display appears, enter your new password.
Notes
· When you play DVDs which do not have the Parental Control function, playback cannot be limited on this system. · Depending on the DVD, you may be asked to change the parental control level while playing the disc. In this case, enter your password, then change the level.

Tuner
Presetting radio stations
You can preset up to 20 FM stations and 10 AM stations. You can then tune in any of those stations simply by selecting the corresponding preset number. There are two ways to store the station presets.

You can use TYPE I (normal) tape.
1 Press FUNCTION repeatedly to switch
the function to TAPE.
2 Press DIRECTION repeatedly to select
"g" to play one side of a tape, "h" to play both sides, or "j"* to play both sides repeatedly.
* The tape deck stops automatically after repeating the sequence five times.
3 Press TAPE nN.
Press TAPE nN again to play the bottom side.

Recording to a tape
CD Synchro Recording/Recording Manually/Program Edit
You can record from a DVD, VIDEO CD, CD (or connected components) or radio. You can use Type I (normal) tape.
Steps Recording from a VIDEO CD/CD (CD Synchro Recording) Load a recordable tape into the cassette holder. Press FUNCTION repeatedly until "DVD" appears in the display. Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select the source you want to record from. Load a disc (or other audio source), or tune in the desired station. Recording manually

To start recording on the side facing away from you, press TAPE nN until " " changes to " ".

Press DIRECTION repeatedly to select "g" to record on one side of the tape, or "h" or "j" to record on both sides. Press TAPE X, and then start playing the desired source.
To stop recording
Press x (or TAPE x on the remote).
Note
Depending on the VIDEO CD, you cannot use the CD Synchro Recording. In this case, record from the VIDEO CD manually.

For recording manually: To pause recording, press TAPE X.
