2GB (Singleended) Disk Drive User Notes
You must install patch PHSS_5776 on the netdist install server to recognize 2-GB drives for both SONY-UX 9. 03 and 9. 05.
After you have loaded SONY-UX onto the drive, you must load patch PHCO_7461 for disktab and sam functionality. [. . . ] During the installation procedure, you may have to change the SCSI ID of your disk drive. Refer to the appropriate illustration to set the SCSI ID jumpers to the desired SCSI ID. We recommend that you use SCSI ID 6 for your workstation's first hard disk drive, and SCSI ID 5 for the second hard disk drive.
Install the patches using /etc/update.
To load SONY-UX 9. 05 onto a newly installed standalone 2GB drive, prior to loading the patches, perform the following steps:
1. The screen displays the following message:
"If model number: "diskdrivemodelnumber", is incorrect, and a correct one (one that has an entry in the /etc/disktab) is known, please enter it now otherwise press return. "
