Remove the batteries when the video light is not in use for a long time. 1 Set the power switch of the video light to OFF. [. . . ] It may cause the light bulb to burn out or shorten the life of the bulb. ⷠDo not spill water on the front glass of the video light when it is hot. ⷠDo not look at the light bulb while it is on. ⷠDo not pick up the camcorder by this unit. ⷠDo not place the light near combustible or volatile solvents such as alcohol or benzine. ⷠDo not drop any liquid or solid objects into the video light. In this case, turn off the power, and recharge the batteries or use another charged batteries. ⷠDuring use or storage, do not place the batteries in the following locations. Doing so may cause the batteries to malfunction or deform: ­ Hot weather or abnormally hot locations such as inside a car with closed windows ­ Direct sunlight or near heating apparatus ­ Locations subject to intense vibrations Even when the four recommended batteries (Sony nickel hydride rechargeable batteries) are correctly used, the E lamp may blink red when the battery life is low. This is due to the conditions of use or slight variations among individual batteries. If any of the batteries become abnormally hot, replace them all with new ones after making sure they have cooled down first. If none of the batteries is abnormally hot, there is no problem. BATTERY TEMP Lamp If the temperature of the batteries becomes too high for any reason, the video light goes out and the red BATTERY TEMP lamp blinks rapidly. The batteries become hot, so be careful not to touch them directly. When removing them, handle them through a cloth or other such material. Make sure the batteries have cooled down first. Remove all of the batteries being used, and then check them according to the following steps. if the temperature of the batteries gets warm , the orange BATTERY TEMP lamp blinks. Are you using batteries other than nickel hydride rechargeable batteries?Yes No Turn off the power for a while before using the video light again. Do not use combinations of new and used batteries; recharged and uncharged batteries; batteries with very different frequency of use; batteries of different types. ⷠThe battery life is shorter when used at low or high ambient temperatures, so the lighting time is also reduced. [. . . ] * Do not use batteries such as AA alkali dry batteries, AA Ni-Mn dry batteries or AA Mn dry batteries. Be sure to use four batteries of the same type and the same frequency of use. Inserting the batteries with the poles in the wrong direction may cause leakage or ruptures. Using the video light (See illustration B) Be sure to set the POWER switch to OFF before attaching the batteries. [. . . ]
