Keep the Operating Instructions for future reference. Installation 1 Water and moisture -- Do not use this unit near water, such as near a bathtub, washbowl, swimming pool, or the like. [. . . ] To display the time while the power is on Hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK on the remote control. The time will be displayed for 4 seconds. To switch to the 24-hour standard Display the time and push the dial down (s) (press s on the remote control) within 4 seconds. With each push (press), the clock alternates between 12- and 24-hour standard time. T -BASS Emphasizes low frequencies for a powerful sound. 1 Press sound/timer repeatedly until "T-BASS" is displayed. 2 Within 7 seconds, push the dial left (f) or right (g) (press f or g on the remote control) to select an emphasis level (1, 2, 3, or "OFF"). The "T-BASS" indicator will also light up when T-BASS is on. ·If the sound becomes distorted with the T-BASS effect, cancel the effect. 3 Press enter/color (COLOR on the remote control). If there is no operation for 4 seconds, setting is canceled. Turning the speaker lights on and off 1 Press sound/timer repeatedly until "LIGHT ON" or "LIGHT oFF" is displayed. 2 Within 7 seconds, push the dial left (f) or right (g) (press f or g on the remote control) to turn the speaker lights on or off. Tip: In the 12-hour standard, "AM 12:00" indicates midnight and "PM 12:00" noon. If the clock display flashes when the unit is turned off There has been a power interruption. Reset the clock. 9 CD OPERATIONS Q SURROUND system The Q SURROUND system built into this unit uses only two speakers at the left and right to create an atmosphere that sounds as if you are surrounded by two front speakers and two rear speakers. aset cpreset f, g, sclear display function CLOSE OPEN 0-9, +10 DISPLAY cPLAY REPEAT PROGRAM RANDOM SHIFT FUNCTION aPAUSE f, g sSTOP En 1 Press sound/timer repeatedly until "QSURROUND" flows from right to left. 2 Within 4 seconds, push the dial left (f) or right (g) (press f or g on the remote control) so that "ON QSURROUND" flows from right to left and the "QSURROUND" indicator lights up on the display. To cancel the Q SURROUND effect Repeat the above so that "OFF QSURROUND" flows from right to left and the "QSURROUND" indicator goes off. This unit plays finalized CD-R/RW discs as well as audio CDs. Playing a CD 1 Press function (FUNCTION) repeatedly to select the CD function. 2 Press OPEN to open the disc compartment. Place a disc with the label side up. Then close the disc compartment. CLOSE To pause play Press a. To skip to the beginning of the current/preceding/ succeeding track Push the dial left (f) or right (g) (press f or g on the remote control) repeatedly. To search (playing in fast forward or reverse) Keep the dial pushed left (f) or right (g) (hold down f or g on the remote control). To remove the disc Press OPEN in stop mode to open the disc compartment. Then pull out the disc while pressing the center pivot. Tip: ·The Q SURROUND system does not work in monaural mode. ·When the Q SURROUND system is on, the sound may be distorted at higher volumes. If this happens, turn the volume down. Pivot 3 Push the dial up (c) (press c on the remote control) to start play. To stop play Push the dial down (s) (press s on the remote control). To select a track with the remote control (Direct play) Press the numbered buttons to select a track. - To select track 25, press +10, +10 and 5.
