Mounting the Unit on the Camera
Attaching the Light Emitting Section
Select the adapter ring matching the filter diameter of your camera lens and fit the ring on the lens by screwing in the ring clockwise (Photo 1). Three adapter rings with thread diameters of 58 mm, 62 mm and 72 mm are provided with this unit so make sure you check the filter diameter of your camera lens by referring to the user's manual for the camera (or lens). Press and hold both attaching buttons for the light emitting section and attach the light emitting section to the camera lens (as shown in Photo 2). The light emitting section is not fixed but can be rotated freely. The adapter ring may not fit depends on the size of lens. image cut-off) may occur if auto 16R pro is used with wide angle lenses of 28mm or less or zoom lenses at less 50mm.
Installing the Batteries
Before installing the batteries, make sure the power switch is in the "OFF" position. Open the battery compartment by sliding it downward as shown by the arrow. Insert four new "AA"-size batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring that the polarity indications "+" and "-" are observed correctly. The battery compartment is designed to prevent incorrect insertion. The unit will not operate properly if the batteries are installed incorrectly. Close the battery cover and set the power switch to the "ON" position. When the unit is switched on, it will start charging with a slight humming sound and the Ready lamp will come on when the unit is fully charged. To switch the power off, slide the switch to the "OFF" position. The Ready lamp will go off and the unit will not flash. 5 * The battery cover may be come off when it is subjected to a strong force. If this happens, attach it as shown in figure 4 on the right. 6

Align the tabs with the four grooves and push in until it snaps.
IMPORTANT
CAUTION
Before attaching (or detaching) the power supply section to (or from) the camera, be sure to set the power switch to the "OFF" position. If the power is left on when the power supply section is being attached or detached, the camera may malfunction. For safety purpose, auto16R pro cannot turn ON the power source if the connecting plug of Ring Flash Head is not inserted correctly in the socket of Power Supplier.

How to determine the shutter speed: When your camera is an SLR camera, set its shutter speed to no more than X second. If your camera is a lens shutter type camera, firing will be synchronized with any shutter speed. 4

OP (Option) switch --------------------------------------
When the power switch is set to the "OP" position as shown in photo 6, the focusing lamps built into the four corners of the light emitting section light continuously. This light can be used as AF auxiliary lighting under low light or as auxiliary lighting when a strobe light would be too strong to use.
Focusing Lamps
The unit has four focusing lamps to support focusing. [. . . ] Then, turn the rotary dial to select the desired exposure value and press the SEL button again. Press the SEL button again so that the "F (f-value)" blinks. Then, turn the rotary dial to select the exposure value while checking the bar graph on the range indicator below.
