[. . . ] For more details see page 12. RS232 control Connect a PC or a product you want to control via RS232 the RS232-IN or RS232-OUT connector, as required. If you need to control more than one product using IR commands then you need to connect an active IR distribution controller, such as those available from Xantech, to the IR-TX output 6 | connecting your TMA1 to the AV32R DP power supply Finally, after you have completed all connections, connect the TMA1's external power supply, shipped with the TMA1, to the TMA1's DC+6. 5V input. Please note that the power connector will be correctly inserted and locked into the DC +6. 5V connector if the connector is pushed in as shown in the picture on the right. Do not plug the power supply into an AC wall socket until you have completed all connections! The TMA1 can remain connected to the AC Supply at all times - it takes very little energy. controlling the TMA1 The TMA1 is entirely controlled through the AV32R Dual Processor's on-screen display. For details on how to configure the AV32R's on-screen display see the AV32R's user manual. | 7 Select Change Set-up, followed by TAGtronic Bus, RS232/IR TX Controller and you come to the RS232/IR TX Controller control window: 8 | TMA1 controller > controlling other products four ways to get results. . . There are four ways the TMA1, connected to the AV32R Dual Processor, can control other products: TAGtronic Bus messages this is the protocol TAG McLaren products use to communicate with each other. [. . . ] Select New Name of Command and enter the new name. TMA1 controller > delete all settings Delete All Macros/Settings This feature clears the whole memory of the TMA1 Controller, erasing everything permanently! There is no going back, so be careful. | 19 It is best to make a backup using the TAG McLaren BackUp Utility before executing this command. This allows you to restore all your settings. 20 | TMA1 controller > macros Macros Macros are a sequence of commands which are executed if specific events occur. They can automate processes which would otherwise need many key presses and often different remote controls. A Macro can be a simple command, such as `Switch On TV' or any combination of Learnt IR, RC5 IR, RS232 or TAGtronic Bus command sequences. 22 | TMA1 controller > macros: an example The easiest way to understand how it works is to look at an example: In the following example we switch the TV on when we press the AV32R DP's input key dvd, then select the TV's AV input and finally set the AV32R DP's volume to 15dB: We assume we have learnt the TV's remote commands for On and for Switch to AV input, as described in the paragraph IR Learning, above. The corresponding Learnt Commands are named: `TV On' and `AV On'. A full list of all RC5 commands TAG McLaren products understand can be found at www. tagmclaren. com. Visit the club and go to the hotlink infra red remote codes | 25 You can also learn an RC5 command by selecting Enter RC5 command using a remote control. Point the remote you want to learn at the AV32R DP's normal infra red receiver window, which is located between the volume knob and power button. Press the button and you will see the Command and Data field updated (if the remote was indeed sending RC5). Remotes sending other protocols are learnt as described on page 12. 26 | TMA1 controller > macro: RC5 / TAGtronic Bus TAGtronic Bus Commands TAGtronic Bus commands are specified to the TMA1 Controller in analogy to their RC5 commands. A full list of all RC5 commands TAG McLaren products understand can be found at www. tagmclaren. com. Just visit the club and go there to the hotlink infra red remote codes All you need to add is the Destination Group and if not BCAST (which means all products), the Destination Unit ID, e. g. Select Unit ID =0 if you want to talk to all products of the same group: Allowed Destination Groups are: BCAST (=all), DVD, AVP, AMP, PREAMP(1) and TUNER Allowed Destination Unit IDs are: 0 (=all), 1, 2, . . . . . 9 The factory setting of the Bus ID for all TAG McLaren products is 1. You can assign a different Bus ID for AV32R DP, AV192R, DVD32R, DVD32FLR, 100x5R, 250x3R and 250MR. 1. The DPA32R only responds to the group BCAST TMA1 controller > macro: learnt IR / chaining Learnt Infra red Command You can assign any of the IR commands you have learnt, as shown on the left. Select Delay to pause the controller for a given time before processing the next command, which is often required when sending several infra red commands in a sequence. | 27 Chaining Macros You can chain, i. e. run one macro after another if you find that the 8 commands per macro are insufficient or if you find that you reprogram an independent sequence all the time, e. g. switching your tv on and then selecting a specific input. The TMA1 Controller chains macros, it doesn't nest them, i. e. a macro chained is executed after the macro you call it from is finished. If you make recursive calls, the TMA1 Controller will fail. 28 | TMA1 controller > change bus ID Changing the Bus ID · DVD32R/DVD32FLR (requires v3. 8 or higher): Disconnect any connections to the TAGtronic Bus Press both the search+ and search- keys (and keep pressed) whilst powering up (to power cycle the DVD32FLR you need to unplug and reconnect the AC power cable) The DVD32 will enter the Set Bus ID mode, which will display on the DVD32's front display the currently set Bus ID, e. g. "UNIT ID 1" Press skip+ or skip- to increment or decrement the Bus ID Press play to assign the displayed ID to the DVD32 · AV32R / AV192R (requires v4. 10 or higher) Disconnect any connections to the TAGtronic Bus Press both the cursor right and cursor left keys (and keep pressed) whilst powering up The AV processor will enter the Set Bus ID mode, which will display on the front display the currently set Bus ID, e. g. "UNIT 1" Press cursor up or cursor down to increment or decrement the Bus ID Press the ok key to assign the displayed ID to the processor 30 | TMA1 controller > 31 xxx macros 31 100 31 xxx Macros The TMA1 Controller allows you to trigger up to 128 macros using learning remote controls, such as the Philips Pronto. [. . . ] Then reconnect the TMA1 to your system, connecting the TMA1`s power cable last. Don't forget to power cycle the AV32R Dual processor to detect the TMA1 controller. In case you experience a problem, just try the above sequence again. Should the problem persist, please send an e-mail to helpdesk@tagmclaren. com for further assistance. maintenance and service heading TAG McLaren Audio equipment is designed to give optimum performance for many years. | 37 cleaning In order to maintain the appearance of your TMA1, you can clean it as follows: · before cleaning, always disconnect your TMA1 from the AC supply · any grease or dirt on the case may be removed with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened slightly with a mild solution of warm water and detergent or washing-up liquid.
