4.  [. . . ] Pull off control knobs and remove pal nuts. Place thumb on top of clip and with forefinger pull bottom of clip out. Remove the four (4) screws,  one at each corner of the cooktop. Element can now be placed on top of the control box to clear the bottom for thorough cleaning. When replacing reverse the above procedures.
