TO TURN ON To ensure your personal safety and the efficient operation of your equipment, please follow the advice given below : Television sets need ventilation to avoid overheating which can cause damage to the components. The ventilation slots at the back of the set should not be covered up by curtains, small covers, newspapers, etc. . . There must be enough room in built-in cupboards to allow the cooling air to circulate. [. . . ] Hold down (PR --): the characters are displayed in descending order. PR + PR -- STOP VT FUNCT VT When the character you are looking for is displayed, move on to the next ( + ), or preceding dash ( -- ). To insert a space, use the empty character (between ß and A). TO STORE IN MEMORY MENU Press briefly to select the Store line. FUNCT VT Press briefly to store your changes in memory, the + turns to OK. The PROGRAMME ORGANIZER menu then reappears. Repeat the above procedure to change other programmes. Press briefly to clear the menu from the screen. NEW CHANNELS TV If a channel is not found or a new channel starts to broadcast in your region please refer to MANUAL CHANNEL SETTING. -7- NEW REGION (If you move to another region, or you want to start again for any other reason) Start the automatic search again and reorganise the programmes. To do this, call up the INSTALLATION menu and proceed as described earlier (page 6). All programmes and names previously stored are then erased. TV Press briefly to clear the menu from the screen. RE-ORGANIZING PROGRAMMES If you subsequenttly wish to re-organize the order of your programmes please proceed as follows : MENU Press briefly to call up the main menu. Press briefly and the PROGRAMME ORGANIZER menu is displayed. MENU MENU PREF. Organis. + FUNCT VT While the television is in any AV mode, (audio-visual), PROGRAMME ORGANIZER menu cannot be displayed. PR -- PR + Select the programme. To erase : PROGRAMME ORGANIZER PR 01 CH22 PR -- / PR + + -- STOP VT keep pressed for some seconds until the station disappears. Press the button repeatedly to select the function you want to adjust : = BRIGHTNESS = COLOUR = CONTRAST = SHARPNESS MENU + = TINT PREF. --/+ The sharpness adjustment is active only in PAL or NTSC mode. The tint adjustment is active only in NTSC mode. STOP VT FUNCT VT To carry out the adjustments. Some details will only be displayed if they have been entered.
