mains supply voltage matches the voltage indicated on the identification sticker located at the back of your set. Do not expose the set to an ambient temperature exceeding 35° Celsius. Do not cover the vents at the back or sides of the set. Leave sufficient space around it to allow adequate ventilation. [. . . ] Select the New PIN code option from the PARENTAL CONTROL menu and enter a new four-digit code using the numeric buttons on the remote control. 2. Enter the code again to confirm it. Press the EXIT button to close the menu. Operation (TV mode) As soon as a function limiting access is enabled, you have to enter your PIN code to be able to access the PARENTAL CONTROL, TIME and INSTALLATION menus. To unlock these menus you have to disable the two functions limiting access. Repeat this procedure to lock any other channel. 5. 6. 14 ETC011-EN 9/01/06 11:15 Page 15 Operation If you have forgotten your PIN code you can reset it. You do this by putting the TV/DVD into standby mode, then pressing the EXIT button on the remote control and the VOL- button on the front of the set at the same time for five seconds. The TV/DVD will then come on. Then you can set a new password. This procedure is possible, even if you have locked the buttons on the front of the TV/DVD. 5. Select At switch on and check the box by pressing OK so that the message appears the next time the set is switched on, or b. Select On time and use the or numeric buttons to enter the time at which the message should appear. Note: These options only display if you checked the box under the Display note option. Notepad function Press the MENU button to display the OVERVIEW menu. Select the Notepad option and press OK. The message will then appear at the specified time. If the TV/DVD is in standby it will automatically come on and if a menu was on the screen it will disappear. To remove the message from the screen, press any button on the front of the TV/DVD or on the remote control. EN Creating a message 1. Select the Edit note option and press OK to confirm. The EDIT screen appears. Editing a message 1. 3. Select Edit note and confirm by pressing OK. Edit the message and press OK to confirm. Change the display options under the NOTEPAD menu. 2. Key in your message using the numeric buttons on the remote control. The characters available are assigned as follows: 1: space . ` - ( ) @ * / + = 1 2: A B C 2 3: D E F 3 4: G H I 4 5: J K L 5 6: M N O 6 7: P Q R S 7 8: T U V 8 9: W X Y Z 9 0: 0 Deleting a message 1. Select Delete note and press OK to confirm. The word Done appears once the message has been deleted. Use the button to make any corrections and the button to insert a space. Notes: - You have eight lines for writing your message. - Use the button to switch from capitals to small letters and vice versa. - You can only create a single message at a time. 3. 4. Press OK to confirm. The NOTEPAD menu appears. Select Display note and check the box by pressing OK. 15 ETC011-EN 9/01/06 11:15 Page 16 Operation Teletext The Teletext service is available in many countries under a variety of names (TOP Text, Fastext, FLOF text, Videotext). It is provided as a free service by television broadcasters. This service provides a real wealth of information, available at any time, on weather, sports results, news, games, etc. The information is presented in pages or organised in topics specified in colour on the screen and you can access this information by simply pressing the buttons of the relevant colour on the remote control. Press the MENU button to display the navigation bar and access the following functions: STOP: this function is used to stop pages from following on in succession.
