[. . . ] · You can choose to hear the sound of either the main or PIP picture (see "Selecting the audio out sound" on page 45). 3. Press PIP CH y z to choose the program you want to be displayed as a small picture. If the V-CHIP feature is active and you try to watch a TV program that exceeds the rating limits you set, the TV will enter into the program block mode. See "Using the V-CHIP menu" on page 32. PIP 24 BLOCKED Appendix To display a picture from an external source as a small picture: 1. Make sure you have connected the external source equipment properly. For more information, see "Connecting your TV" on page 7. Turn on the TV and select the program you want to watch. Press PIP once to display a small picture. A window 1/9 the size of the screen will appear. Press PIP a second time to display a 1/16-size window. Repeatedly press SOURCE to select the input source (VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, or VIDEO 3) for the small picture. The selected source will be displayed in purple. You can play a tape as the small picture or select a channel for the small picture using the VCR's channel button. Using the TV's Features NOTICE OF POSSIBLE ADVERSE EFFECTS ON TV PICTURE TUBE Avoid displaying stationary images on your TV screen for extended periods of time. Fixed (non-moving) images can become permanently engrained in the picture tube. This type of damage is NOT COVERED BY YOUR WARRANTY because it is the result of misuse. See item 32 on page 4. The main and small pictures will switch each time you press the SWAP button. FAVORITE MENU/ENTER Changing the position of the small picture Press LOCATE repeatedly while you are watching a small picture. The display position of the small picture will change in the following order: yzx · STILL SWAP Still Using the Multi-Window feature The Multi-Window feature provides the following functions: · The INFO (channel preview) function is a 6-picture multiwindow scan of the channels you programmed into the TV's memory using the CH PROGRAM function (page 23). · The FAVORITE function is a 9-picture multi-window scan of the favorite channels you programmed into the TV's memory using the FAVORITE CH function (page 25). · The MULTI function strobes the current program in a 9-picture multi-window. This feature is convenient when watching a quickly moving picture such as a sports program.
