Precautions
Installing your TV
· Place the TV on the floor or on a sturdy platform. The mounting surface should be flat and steady. If you install the TV on a soft floor, make sure that the floor is not damaged by the weight of the TV.
Use this TV with the Toshiba stand listed in the Specifications section on page 52 only. Use with other stands may result in instability, causing possible injury or death.

7. Repeat step 6 to enter the rest of the characters. If you would like a blank space in the label name, you must choose an empty space from the list of characters. Otherwise, a dash "" will appear in that space. Repeat steps 46 for other channels. You can assign labels to a maximum of 32 channels. Press MENU, and then press x or · until the CUSTOM menu appears. Press x or · to display the CH LABELING menu. Press z to highlight CH INPUT, then select the channel you want to clear with the Channel Number buttons. Press z to highlight CLEAR.

Viewing the wide-screen picture formats
You can view programs that have the conventional TV picture format (4:3 aspect ratio) and the wide-screen format (16:9 aspect ratio). This feature is available for 1080i digital broadcasts and 480p/480i DVD signals connected to the ColorStream HD1 and HD2 jacks.
Selecting the image shape 1. Make sure the ColorStream HD1 or HD2 mode is selected. Press PIC SIZE repeatedly to select either Normal, Letterbox, or Compression image shape, as described below. Note: The message "Not Available" will appear when the PIC SIZE button is pressed in the mode other than the ColorStream HD1 or HD2.

While the above menu is on the screen, you can select the desired picture size by pressing the corresponding number button (02).
Letterbox, Compression The Letterbox and Compression modes display a wide-screen (16:9) picture with bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The picture retains its true proportion. Letterbox (recommended mode): · Picture is horizontally stretched, with bars at the top and bottom. · Lower picture quality than in the Compression mode because of a reduction in the scanning lines. · Slightly lower chance of permanently engraining stationary patterns on the picture tube than in the Compression mode. Compression: · Picture is vertically compressed, Letterbox and Compression with bars at the top and bottom. modes have bars at top and · Better picture quality than in the bottom of screen.
