Lift the display panel to its upright position. Rotate the display panel counter-clockwise 180o. When you complete this task, the screen returns to its normal position facing the keyboard. Other cards may work with your computer, but are likely to be much more difficult to set up and use. Your notebook computer comes with a PC Card slot and supports two types of PC Cards that you can install: Type I cards Type II cards The PC Card slot supports hot swapping, which allows you to replace one PC Card with another while the computer is on. Inserting a PC Card Before you insert a PC Card, refer to the documentation that comes with the card to see if you need to do anything before you insert it. The user password can be set up under the supervisor password. The supervisor password must be set before the user password, or the user password must be deleted and then re-entered after the supervisor password is set. NOTE When setting up passwords, keep the following in mind: Using an instant password An instant password secures your system with a single keystroke. Use this feature when you leave your desk for a few minutes and do not want to turn off the computer. To use an instant password, press Fn + F1. This freezes the keyboard and TouchPad, and blanks the screen. An instant password has no effect on an optional USB mouse or trackball. To unlock your system, press any key or touch the pointing device and the Windows® Logon screen will appear. Select your user name and enter your password, if any.
