Adding and Removing Memory
If you want to expand the functionality of your computer, you can increase the memory by installing optional memory modules. Before you upgrade your computer's memory, read the notes and procedures in the following pages. The number of available slots depends on the configuration of your model.
Notes on adding/removing memory modules
Be careful when changing memory. Improper installation of memory modules may cause damage to your system. This damage may void your manufacturer's warranty. Only use memory modules that are compatible with your computer. If a memory module is not detected by the computer or Windows becomes unstable, contact your sales dealer or the manufacturer of your memory module. Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components. Precautions
On Handling the LCD Screen
Do not leave the LCD screen facing the sun. Be careful when using your computer near a window. Do not scratch the LCD screen or exert pressure on it. Using your computer in low temperature conditions may produce a residual image on the LCD screen. When the computer returns to normal temperature, the screen returns to normal. A residual image may appear on the LCD screen if the same image is displayed for a long period of time. The residual image disappears in a while. You can use a screen saver to prevent residual images. The LCD screen becomes warm during operation. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
