Cleaning the computer
To help ensure long, trouble-free operation, keep the computer free of dust and use care with liquids around the computer. Be careful not to spill liquids into the computer. If the computer does get wet, turn the power off immediately and let the computer dry completely before you turn it on again. Clean the computer using a slightly damp (with water) cloth. You can use glass cleaner on the display. Spray a small amount of cleaner on a soft, clean cloth and wipe the screen gently with the cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the computer or let liquid run into any part of it. Never use harsh or caustic chemical products to clean the computer.

The Keyboard
F1 through F9 are called function keys because they execute programmed functions when pressed. Used in combination with the FN key, keys marked with icons execute specific functions on the computer. See the section, Soft keys: FN key combinations, in this chapter. The function executed by individual keys depends on the software you are using.
Soft keys: FN key combinations
The FN (function) is unique to Toshiba computers and is used in combination with other keys to form soft keys. Soft keys are key combinations that enable, disable or configure specific features. Some software may disable or interfere with soft-key operations. Soft key settings are not restored by the Resume feature.
Hot keys
Hot keys (pressing FN + a function or ESC key) allow you to enable or disable certain features of the computer. Sound mute Pressing FN + ESC in a Windows environment turns sound on or off. When you press these hot keys, the current setting will be displayed as an icon. Pressing FN + F1 enters "Lock computer" mode. [. . . ] Random Access Memory (RAM): High speed memory within the computer circuitry that can be read or written to. restart: Resetting a computer without turning it off (also called "warm boot" or "soft reset"). A device that uses three input signals, each activating an electron gun for a primary additive color (red, green and blue) or port for using such a device.
